Long term investment
Hotels take a long time to return their investment, but they need at least some simple maintenance in the meantime. Although my room was quite good, the fridge looked as if it was out of the Ark and the walls need a lick of paint. The en suite is adequate, but also in need of some TLC. The air con is great but half the tennis court has been torn up. Why only half? I don’t know, the staff are very helpful but it is the mark of an Old Asia Hand that he carries his own luggage so he isn’t perpetually handing out tips. I’ve stayed in a lot worse hotels than this one. It’s a matter of what you pay is what you get.

Handy stopover
This hotel is close to the local market and overlooks the lake. Although it appears to be in need of renovation, the rooms had good running water, good air con, a large fridge and were clean and bright. The wi fi was good and worked in the rooms. The beds were firm as were the large pillows! Breakfast was good with fresh fruit and an omelette station.
